Hello, Shea-ann. You know, when your mother and I were in school, all we could do was pass hand-written notes down the desk aisles....no computers in schools back then...or at home, for that matter. And, of course, we trudged 50 miles through 8 feet drifts of snow with our lunches in tin buckets. Or maybe that was our great-great-grandparents who did that. ha!

Love the site; linked to it through Patty; lots of wonderful insight and information. By any chance do you know Eden Edwards, a kid's book editor for Houghton Mifflin? She too is a refugee from western Nebraska, by way of Horn Book Magazine ad sales etc. I met her at a Library meeting a generation ago and have tracked her progress at some remove. I've always had a thing for Nebraskans. Several best buds from the Army (Korea, 1969--if ever there was a time to be on another planet) were from Lincoln. As Seventh Day Adventists they were conscientious objectors doing working as non-combatant medics in the Army. For a couple of years I hitch-hiked from Virginia to see and play with them. Haven't been through NE except to drive my youngest sister's VW Beetle to Bozeman, MT for her in '81. Gorgeous, lonely country.
